ABOUT US

Tom

Tom has spent more than 25 years working with dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments, from puppies and family pets to rescue dogs and more challenging behavioural cases.

Dog training has always been part of his life. He grew up in the family business, watching training classes from his dad’s shoulder before he could even walk and helping with clients’ dogs from a young age.

Tom got his first dog, a yellow Labrador called Boo, when he was five. He competed with Boo in junior gundog events, which sparked a lifelong interest in working dogs, training and handling.

Tom also travelled across the UK with his working English Springer Spaniels, Swift and Ivy, taking part in gundog scurries and working tests at country fairs. This gave him valuable practical experience handling dogs in busy, distracting environments.

Alongside decades of hands-on experience, Tom has continued to develop his knowledge through more recent professional training, including courses with the IMDT. Rather than affiliating himself exclusively with one organisation or training philosophy, he has chosen to develop his own approach, drawing on practical experience, continued education and what works best for the individual dog.

Today, Tom’s training is clear, practical and tailored to the dog in front of him rather than following a one-size-fits-all method. His aim is to help owners develop calmer, more reliable behaviour that works in everyday life.

With dog training now a full-time career and family life taking priority, Tom prefers to spend his spare time hiking and camping with his dogs.
